Van Alloy Wheels

Plain and Simple

Here is what you need to know about buying alloy wheels for vans. It can be complicated, but that's why we make it very simple for you...

Wheel Load Capacity...

Van load capacities are higher than cars, in some cases as many as three times that of a hatchback! Different vans have varying gross vehicle weights. Your new wheels and tyres must be approved for loads over and above your gross vehicle capacity. So if your van weighs 4 tonnes. Each wheel and tyre must be tested and deemed safe and suitable. Our wheels are tested by renouned international testing body TÜV who publish certificates of approval. These certificates are lawfully required in Germany and across Europe.

Insurance Issues...

In the event of an accident or claim you may be asked to produce proof that your wheel is deemed suitable for use with your vehicle. In the event that the wheel or tyre may have been the cause of the accident an insurance company would be within their right to refuse a claim if reasonable care was not taken to ensure unsuitable or hazardous parts are not fitted to your van.

Unsuitable wheels...

It is very cheap to produce a wheel in the Far East and Asia, use the lowest grade materials and processes and sell them to unassuming British consumers for a quick profit. The responsibility of fitting those inferior wheels to your van lies with the driver. Common issues occur with VW/Mercedes and BMW Replica wheels being used on vans. These wheels are not treated and are a softer alloy. This is just the tip of the iceburg, there are also many fitment and tyre issues to consider.

Suitable wheels...

All of our van wheels are designed in Germany or Europe by designers and engineers. They are usually heat treated which is a process of heating and slow cooling that strengthens the alloy to the required application needs. Every wheel before it released for sale is tested by the TÜV testing and approval body with tyres, on the vehicle for which it is intended. Various impact, strength, degradation and quality tests are required to be certified before it is allocated its approval number. If the wheel does not meet the German regulation, the wheel is not passed and returned to the manufacturer for modification. Because of the dedication to the safety critical testing and quality of the products, you will find many of our van wheels in manufacturer (Volkswagen, Mercedes & more) showrooms across Europe as part of their accessory lines.
